Key Topic Areas of Discussion

This webinar will be an informal discussion going through:

What is threat modelling?

In this segment, we will define threat modelling, outlining its purpose and importance in identifying potential threats to systems and applications. You will gain a clear understanding of how this process is essential for proactive security management.

Where is it applicable in cyber security?

We will explore the various points in time and contexts where threat modelling is applied, such as system design, incident response, and security audits. Practical examples will demonstrate how it fits into a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy.

What are some frameworks that can be leveraged as part of threat modelling?

This section will cover key frameworks like STRIDE, DREAD, and PASTA, explaining where each is applicable as well as introduce our own method which synthesises these into a relevant and Australian approach. We’ll provide insights into selecting the right framework based on your organisation’s needs.

Practical examples- how have we used threat modelling to inform cyber security

Real-world examples will be shared, showcasing how threat modelling has been implemented to address vulnerabilities in web applications, cloud infrastructures, and incident response plans. These cases will highlight the practical benefits of threat modelling in cybersecurity.
