He has worked in federal and state government roles, oil & gas seismic data processing, whole-of-Government Chief Technology Office, consulting and advisory firms, service providers, and most recently, helped to extend the training portfolio of Australia’s longest running cyber security training company with a view to selling, which was finalised in 2024.
Peter is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and has served on several not-for-profit boards, including the Board of Trustees at The SABSA institute, based in the UK. Peter is a co-founder of two national Computer Emergency Response Teams; AusCERT and SL-CERT.
Peter started his career with Coopers&Lybrand as an internal financial auditor but soon moved to another industry to pursue his passion with computers and mathematics. From there, he moved from computer operator roles, and onto UNIX systems programming and system administration, after which he got out of his comfort zone and into managing a team of IT support personnel whilst in oil & gas for onshore and offshore processing.
He then ventured into whole-of-Government consulting and advisory roles, before coming full circle and returning consulting with Deloitte. In 2016, Peter joined a partnership to further develop the cyber security training portfolio at ALC Training, adding cloud security and privacy courses.
